PROJECT FOR EDP P&C CORPORATE DEPARTMENT

 

The main goal was to implement a corporate data lake, feed a new corporate P&C forecasting model and develop new dashboard and report solutions.

Our team was responsible to design the end-to-end solution and the architecture, advise on Azure best practices and resources to use in the project and for all the development activities. We used Azure Data Lake Gen 2 to store data from 16 different business units and to build a responsive and flexible data lake. In order to transform data and orchestrate our ELT processes, we used Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks. We were also asked to design and build a modern cloud data warehouse from scratch.

To answer business reporting needs, we developed OLAP cubes on top of SSAS to perform metrics and KPIs calculations, to work as a mid layer between Azure data warehouse and Power BI dashboards.
